Home Streets, New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana · Personal study

This is New Orleans from the inside, seen on the way to other things. The corners you pass every day, the streets that only really show themselves when you are not looking for them.

Most of the frames sit in the neighborhoods, where the city feels closest to the way people actually live. Shotgun houses under live oaks. Porches that hold the weather. Corner stores with light that spills out onto uneven sidewalks. The river is never far, even when it is out of sight, and the air has its own kind of weight.
